  • To encourage the college community to plant more trees and protect them not only in college but also in the neighbourhood.
  • To bring out at least one publication of academic and research material as well as a report of achievements and agenda for future.

Among the activities, MAC INSERCH organized a day long plantation drive in the College campus which was launched by Sh. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Secretary, Department of Environment and Forests, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Dr. B C Sabata, Senior Scientific Officer, Govt. of NCT of Delhi and our principal, Dr. Sunil Sondhi on August 27, 2011. Over 300 trees were planted on a single day in the college premises. Great care is being taken to maintain bio-diversity. We plan to plant more and more perennial trees.

A Vermi-compost pit is also coming up in the college premises with assistance from Govt. of NCT of Delhi. It will produce natural manure and would cater to the compost requirements of the college.

The college is in talks with the Department of Environment and Forests, Govt. of NCT of Delhi for setting up of Paper Recycling Plant in the college. We are hopeful that by the end of the year, it would be in place.

In order to generate a sense of awareness about our heritage among the college community, MAC INSERCH would organize evening trips to the monuments restored and maintained by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

In order to conserve energy, the Committee plans to organize a poster-making competition the winning entries from which would figure in our college magazine. A group of students would also be selected to promote the concept of conserving electricity especially in the college premises.

MAC INSERCH also plans to organize a one day seminar/symposium on the issue of environment and development in the month of February, 2012. The issue assumes significance especially in view of large-scale conflicts between the human beings and developmental project.

By the end of the year, MAC INSERCH plans to bring out at least one publication detailing the activities undertaken by the committee and its future initiatives.
